he police will question the husband of Jakarta deputy governor candidate Sylviana Murni, Gde Sardjana, on Friday as a witness in an alleged treason case, an official has said.
“Yes [he will be] questioned tomorrow at 1 p.m.,” Jakarta Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono said on Thursday as reported by kompas.com.
Argo said Gde was believed to be involved in financing the treason of activist Jamran, who had been named a suspect for spreading hate speech.

He said Gde would be questioned as to how much money he had given Jamran and what the money had been used for.
In addition to Jamran, the police have named 10 other activists suspect, including veteran politician Sri Bintang Pamungkas, the daughter of the country’s first president Sukarno, Rachmawati Soekarnoputri, artist Ratna Sarumpaet and musician Amad Dhani.
They were arrested on Dec. 2 in the early morning, hours before hundreds of thousands people, led by conservative Muslim groups, staged a rally in front of the Presidential Palace demanding the police detain Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama for alleged blasphemy.
Ahok, a Christian of Chinese descent, who will run in the gubernatorial election on Feb. 15 next year, has asked for forgiveness for his statement on a verse in the Quran at an event in September in Seribu Islands regency.
In the election, incumbent governor Ahok, paired with incumbent deputy governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat, will compete against governor candidate Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono paired with Sylviana Murni, and governor candidate Anies Baswedan paired with businessman Sandiaga Uno. (jun)
