onstitutional Court (MK) chief justice Arief Hidayat apologized Thursday for “the conduct of one of its judges,” following a report that a Constitutional Court judge was caught red handed for alleged bribery.

“I apologize because another Constitutional Court judge made a mistake, although it was an individual mistake, the institution once again has been tainted,” Arief said Thursday.

Media reports revealed that court judge Patrialis Akbar was caught red handed by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in a hotel in West Jakarta for allegedly accepting a bribe.

Arief called all the court’s judges for an immediate meeting on Thursday, where four had arrived by noon: Gede Palguna, Manahan Sitompul, Anwar Usman, and Arief Hidayat. The remaining judges were in a working meeting in Cisarua, Bogor, West Java. (evi)
