he selection committee designated to appoint a new Constitutional Court justice interviewed five from a total 11 candidates on Monday.
The five candidates who were interviewed were Muslich KS, a lecturer in Islamic law at the Islamic University of Indonesia, Saldi Isra from Andalas University, Muhammad Yamin Lubis from North Sumatra University, Wicipto Setiadi, a former director general on legal regulations at the Office of the Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister and Mudji Estianingsih, a lecturer from the National Institute of Administration.
A member of the committee, Sukma Violetta, said the interviews, which were held at the office of the State Secretariat, were conducted to get to know the candidates more deeply.
"We will ask questions related to the Constitution, statesmanship, ethics and integrity," she said as quoted by kompas.com.

Sukma added that the committee had allocated one hour for each candidate. The remaining six candidates will be interviewed on March 29.
After the selection process, the committee will propose three names to President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on March 31.
The President will then determine which candidate will replace former justice Patrialis Akbar.
Patrialis was dismissed for his alleged involvement in a bribery case. (rdi/wit)
