ollowing the passing of 36-year-old singer-turned-actress Julia Perez, fondly known by fans as Jupe, after a long battle with cervical cancer, friends and fans have flooded social media with their condolences, using the hashtag #RIPJupe.
Jakarta deputy governor-elect Sandiaga Uno extended his condolences on his Instagram account by uploading a photo of him and his wife Nur Asiah during a visit with Jupe at Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital, recently.
“We will miss your cheerfulness,” Sandiaga wrote.

Meanwhile, composer Addie MS said on his account, “Good bye Julia Perez, your resilience indeed inspires us all. Hope you enjoy the best spot at God’s side,” he wrote Saturday.

Jupe’s close friend comedian Ruben Onsu also expressed his condolences on his Instagram account, “Goodbye, best friend. Thanks for the best and beautiful memories we shared. You should remember how I love you so much.”

The news about Jupe’s passing was confirmed by her younger sister, Nia 'Anggit' Anggia, on the latter’s Instagram account.
Jupe had undergone surgery on Thursday.
Her body were taken to her residence at Raffles Hills in Cibubur, east of Jakarta and later buried at the Pondok Rangon public cemetery. (dmr)
