he Jakarta Police have seized 225 kilograms of marijuana from an expedition truck parked at a rest area alongside the Merak-Jakarta toll road in Karang Tengah, Tangerang, Banten.
It was reported that the truck driver, SM, and his assistant, EP, had ferried the marijuana from Aceh to be delivered to Cilincing in North Jakarta as instructed by another man known as Parlin.
The police also discovered that a man, HSB, had hoped to receive the marijuana from SM and EP.
“HSB tried to seize our officers’ weapons. Hence, we took firm action by firing at him. The suspect was then taken to Bhayangkara Hospital in South Jakarta. He has passed away,” Sr. Comr. Suwondo Nainggolan, the Jakarta Police narcotics unit director, said as quoted by kompas.com on Wednesday.
The police are currently hunting Parlin and three other men involved in the case, Suwondo added. (agn)
