The government has received praise for its smooth haj management. No major accidents have been reported so far.
“So far so good,” said Hajriyanto Y. Thohari, the deputy chairman of Muhammadiyah, the country’s second-largest Islamic organization.
“The 2017 haj has been successful so far. I haven’t heard of any serious incidents,” Hajriyanto said.
He added that there were minor shortcomings but “these were still tolerable.”
“The haj is an annual event so the management of it should always improve year by year,” he said.
Religious Affairs Ministry spokesperson Mastuki claimed that this year’s haj had run well.
