he Indonesia State University Rectors Assembly (MRPTNI) has opened up classes to students of the damaged Tadulako University in Palu, Central Sulawesi, at 38 state universities across the country.
The assembly’s chief Kadarsah Suryadi said the classes were accessible to students of Tadulako Universty, which was damaged by the recent earthquake that hit a number of areas in Central Sulawesi.
Among the universities are the Bandung Institute of Technology in West Java; Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta; Diponegoro University in Semarang, Central Java; Andalas University in Padang, West Sumatra; Tanjungpura University in Pontianak, West Kalimantan and Sam Ratulangi University in Manado, North Sulawesi.
“The students can contact the desired university office to attend the classes. Showing their student IDs will also be required,” ITB rector Kadarsah said in Bandung on Wednesday.
Separately, the University of Indonesia (UI) announced on Thursday that it would open up classes in 14 schools, including the schools of medicine, dentistry, psychology, engineering, law, as well as economy and business.
“UI fully supports the idea of facilitating lectures initiated by the assembly. Tadulako University students who are in Jakarta and Depok can report to us to attend the lectures,” UI rector M. Anis said in a statement. (swd)
