akarta Governor Anies Baswedan says the city administration will check residents’ data following the recent finding of e-ID cards in a sack in Pondok Kopi, East Jakarta.
“We will conduct an internal review to see whether there were any Jakarta documents,” he said on Saturday as reported by tempo.co.
The governor also urged police to look into the issue, which has caught public attention. The finding came following an investigation report by Kompas on blank e-ID cards being traded illegally in the market.
As reported earlier, 1,706 e-ID cards were found in a sack by children playing in a field in Pondok Kopi, Duren Sawit district, East Jakarta on Saturday.
Locals reported the finding to Duren Sawit Police, who opened the investigation.
Duren Sawit Police chief Comr. Parlindungan Sutasuhut said all the e-ID cards belonged to Pondok Kelapa subdistrict in Duren Sawit. Some of the e-ID cards had expired while others were still valid.
“We are still looking into who threw out the e-ID cards and why,” he told tempo.co.
