Ever wish you were surrounded by lush trees and gorgeous stars in the evening instead of endless traffic jams and skyscrapers? 

Glamping, or glamorous camping, provides a unique yet convenient escape from the city's hustle and bustle, especially if you are looking for a new experience rather than just staying in a regular hotel. 

As the name suggests, glamping has nothing to do with pitching a tent, building a campfire or unrolling a sleeping bag. Yes, it will bring you closer to nature, but in a rather sumptuous and elegant manner.

Check out these recommendations and decide for yourself if you should add glamping to your next itinerary.

Glamping Legok Kondang Lodge

Heading toward this site on the outskirts of Bandung, West Java, is similar to entering an uphill hidden village. Upon arriving, park your car in the designated parking lot and hop onto the shuttle provided by the lodge as the road to the property can only fit one car. 

With more than 20 tents available that can accommodate four to 10 people, Legok Kondang has several options for your stay. Different tents have different views, such as the hill, fish pond, garden and sunrise. But all of the tents have beds, a clean bathroom with a water heater and TV, while your stay includes breakfast and a campfire at a starting price of Rp 1 million ($73) per night. 

In addition to marveling at the view and enjoying the cool weather, guests can also enjoy various activities such as barbequing, trekking, strawberry picking, rafting and traveling to Kawah Putih (White Crater). Also, when the night comes, stargazing is a must.

Ciwidey Valley

Also situated in Ciwidey, this destination is known for its hot spring water park. So prepare to bring your swimwear to indulge in the natural hot water amid the surrounding's cold weather.

Ciwidey Valley has camping ground tents to cater to staying guests. Available for two to four people, the tents are uniquely arrange in a neighborhood-like setting with shared bathroom. 

With starting price at Rp 850,000 per night, the property also features a bird park, a strawberry garden and a restaurant.

Dusun Bambu

Entering the venue, this place's dense Sundanese culture is quite impressive, starting from the neatly arranged villas to traditional cuisine served at the Purbasari restaurant with a picturesque mountain in the background.

Dusun Bambu has a homey glamping site named Sayang Heulang, with facilities that include a private entrance, campfire and barbeque spot. A single deck option is available for two people, while a family of four may stay in its double deck. Prices start at Rp 1.5 million per night.

The property's surrounding attractions are also worth checking out, such as Pasar Khatulistiw, a market where you’ll find local snacks and souvenirs, Lutung Kasarung restaurant, which offers dining above the tree experience, Burangrang café, where you can relax while viewing Mount Burangrang, and Purbasari restaurant set in a bamboo gazebo.

Green Hill Park

As part of the Cimanggu nature preserve, Green Hill Park is an interesting option for people who fancy outdoor activities.

Tenda Iyuh, the property's camping site, offers a cozy space to stay. It is equipped with beds, sleeping bags, bathroom and water heater, as well as welcome drink, breakfast and campfire. With a starting price of Rp 1 million per night, the tents accommodate four to six people, depending on the type. 

It is suggested that guests go outside and explore the surroundings, as Green Hill Park provides a trip to Kawah Putih, forest trekking, paintball and other fun outbound games.

Sari Ater Hotel & Resort

In addition to a hotel, Sari Ater also has camping grounds with an extensive selections of tents. 

Those considering staying here should choose their tent wisely since the decision will largely determine the view, location, type of bed (bed sets or veltbed), capacity, parking lot and bathroom (private or shared) they will get to enjoy. With starting price of Rp 865,000 per night, all tents come with breakfast and free entrance to the recreation area and thermal bathing pool.

Guests interested in channeling their adventurous side can opt to take part in outdoor activities such as ATV riding, cycling, flying fox, archery, golf and 4WD Jeep off-roading. A mini outbound camping park is also available for your little ones.

Grafika Cikole

Grafika Cikole allows you to interact with nature thanks to its tents located right in the middle of green grass and surrounded by pine trees. 

The glamping site provides two types of tents with starting price of Rp 460,000: the family type that can accommodate four, and the bulk type that can cater to up to 40 people. Both come with sleeping bags, electricity, firewood and corn. Clean toilets are available near the site.

You won't be staying at the tent for long though, as a wide range of outdoor activities are provided, from flying fox to paintball.

Tanakita

Situated in front of Gede Pangrango National Park, Tanakita offers a convenient place for glamping as well as many outdoor activities to choose from.

The tents, available at a starting price of Rp 550,000 per person, can accommodate three people and are equipped with beds, sleeping bags, bathrooms with hot and cold water showers, as well as breakfast and snacks. 

While exploring the place, it suggested for guests to try river tubing, canoeing at Situ Gunung and night trekking around the area.
