Canadian clothing brand has created "the ultimate travel hack" by designing travel clothes that can be worn every day for up to two weeks without a wash.

Unbound Apparel's secret is Merino wool. Superior to cotton and synthetic fabrics, Merino is a material that is naturally antibacterial, odor resistant and wipes sweat away from the body to be evaporated. This is unlike cotton, which absorbs sweat and provides a breeding ground for bacteria, which is why Merino is mostly used for high-end athletic clothing.

This fabric is said to also works wonders in different temperatures, staying light and breathable when it’s hot, and conversely warming the body when it’s cold. Quick-drying and easy to wear, Merino wool does not crease, making it even more suitable for travel purposes, as these clothes are crafted to transition into both formal events and sweaty beach days.

Unbound Apparel offers socks and underwear for men as well, allowing travelers to drastically minimize the content of their luggage and opt for a light backpack instead.

When it was first launched, the company did a trial by wearing the jerseys for 46 days without washing them. The jerseys were worn to the gym and sauna, and even to travel around Southeast Asia.

On sale on crowdfunding and fundraising site Indiegogo, the t-shirts are priced at US$50 (Rp 655,000). (jam/kes)
