s the Middle East's largest entertainment and business hub, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates offers plenty of interesting places to explore. If you only have 48 hours to spare, here are some destinations to add to your itinerary.
Burj Khalifa
As world's tallest skyscraper, standing at 830 meters, Burj Khalifa is one very attractive tourist attraction. The 163-level building is also home to the world’s highest swimming pool on the 76th floor and world’s fastest, highest elevators. Visitors can also enjoy an undisturbed scenic city view from observation decks located at the 124th and 148th floors.
The Dubai Mall
Situated not far away from the Burj Khalifa, this shopping mall boasts prominent brand-name stores including All Saints, Lululemon, Abercrombie & Fitch, Christian Louboutin and Prada. It also hosts Dubai Ice Rink, man-made Burj Khalifa Lake, Dubai Fountain that has its own music show, Dubai Aquarium and an underwater zoo.

Creek Park
Said to be one of the city's oldest parks, this place is a great alternative for those looking to do some outdoor activities. Popular among the locals as well as tourists, it is home to various kinds of traditional wooden dhows where people can enjoy a dinner cruise along the creek.
Jumeirah Mosque
Dubbed the city’s most photographed mosque, Jumeirah offers daily guided tours for those interested in exploring more of the mosque's designs, including its mosaics, murals and Arabic calligraphy. Do note that visitors are required to wear modest clothing when entering this place.

Traditional markets and souks
Explore Dubai’s traditional markets and souks to fully experience authentic Arabian lifestyle. Expect to splurge while bargaining for dates, textiles, aromatic herbs and spices, perfumes, as well as antique jewelry.
Al Fahidi
With its restored traditional low-rise buildings, historic neighborhood Al Fahidi is home to Dubai’s history and culture. Some of the most popular attractions in the area include Dubai Museum inside the Al Fahidi Fort, the city’s first office building Bait Al Wakeel, XVA Art Gallery, and Sheikh Mohammed Center for Cultural Understanding.
Desert
In addition to touring the city, visitors can also opt to explore the desert outside. There are many local tours available that offer half-day desert safaris, which include camel riding, sand dunes drives and sand boarding. Travelers can also visit a traditional Bedouin camp at twilight to try kahwa, coffee and various kinds of Arabian delicacies. (kes)
