ustralian flag-carrier Qantas has just announced that it will make the seasonal Sydney-Denpasar return flights available all year long, starting March 2017.
Qantas said the decision to make the service permanent was to mirror high growth in tourist demand, particularly from passengers who demanded a full-service flight to one of Australia’s most popular holiday destinations, kompas.com reported on Thursday.
Qantas will fly to Bali four days a week using Boeing 737s with two cabin classes. Fares will be inclusive of baggage, in-flight meals and entertainment.
Meanwhile, Qantas’ budget airline Jetstar will still be the main airline serving Australia-Bali return flights with 60 flights a week.

Gareth Evans, CEO of Qantas International, named the combination of the two airlines as the option that gave the most “flexibility for customers to go to Bali”.
“That is the most important thing for a tourist destination desired by customers with varying budgets and tastes,” he said.
Evans said that the seasonal Qantas flights to Bali had been receiving a “fantastic response”, especially from its frequent flyers. This was one of the reasons why Qantas wanted to make the route available all year long, he stated.
Qantas began its second year of daily Bali return flights on Dec. 14. This schedule will continue until Mar. 25, 2017, before changing to four days per week from Mar. 26. (mas/asw)
