President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo went to Australia on a state visit between Feb. 25 and Feb. 26.

On his official Facebook page, the President said it was a fruitful visit, returning with satisfactory results in the fields of economic, politics, law and security.

Prior to Jokowi’s visit, the Australian Embassy in Indonesia invited Australian children to offer the President some recommendations for things to do during his time down under.

Below are the recommended activities for Jokowi as suggested by the Australian children.

Places to visit

On a video posted on the official Facebook page of the Australian Embassy in Jakarta, the children name a few places to visit in the country, including the Royal Botanic Gardens and Bondi Beach in Sydney, Mount Ainslie in Canberra and the Big Pineapple in Southeast Queensland. One of the most interesting suggestions was a visit to the Australian supermarket chain Coles.

Food to try

Some Australian children recorded a video recommending that Jokowi sample the country’s iconic cuisine, such as the spread Vegemite, cereal Weet-Bix and lamington cakes. One kid suggested that the President try kangaroo pie. Others offered a safer choice: the famed meat pie.

Souvenirs to take home

A trip to Australia is not complete without taking one or two souvenirs back home with you. In regards to this, the children suggested that the President get a boomerang, a kangaroo toy or a didgeridoo. (kes)
