Balinese garden part of Gardens of the World at Erholungspark Marzahn

The tourism ministry hopes that through the presence of the Balinese garden in the park, it will help increase the number of foreign tourists, especially from the European market to come to Indonesia.

rholungspark Marzahn is a public park in the Marzahn area of Berlin. What makes it unique is there’s an area inside this park called Gardens of the World where it showcases traditional design gardens from Asia and Europe.

The area is home to a Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Italian and Balinese gardens. The latter was added on December 18, 2003.

“This park was officiated on May 9, 1987 on the 750th anniversary of Berlin,” explained the ministry's deputy for overseas promotion, I Gde Pitana.

The tourism ministry hopes that through the presence of the Balinese garden in the park, it will help increase the number of foreign tourists, especially from the European market to come to Indonesia.

“For Germany, we are predicting that 306,000 German nationals will visit Indonesia this year, a 58.5 percent increase from 2015 that had 193,000 visitors,” said the Tourism Ministry’s development assistant deputy for the Middle East, America and Africa markets. (asw)
