he Tourism Ministry is holding a homestay management training program for public servants in Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Mandalika is one of the Tourism Ministry’s 10 priority destinations.

“The first training session was successfully held in Tanjung Lesung, Banten, one of the 10 priority destinations, from March 19 to 23. Mandalika is the second training place, the training event there is held from May 21 to 25,” said Ahman Sya, the ministry's official in charge of tourism development.
As of May 8, the tourism human resources training program in 10 priority destinations has reached 850 participants, while 3,900 students participated in the Tourism Goes to Campus program.
Moreover, 750 people took part in the tourism assimilation training, 7,270 people received school certification and 2,679 people received industry certification. The progress has so far reached 31.42 percent (44,571 people left) from the target of 65,000 people.

Speakers at the training events include the ministry's head of development acceleration for 10 priority tourist destinations, Hiramsyah S. Thaib, Jakarta State Polytechnic lecturer and researcher Christina L. Rudatin, homestay practitioner Agus Wijono and Widyaiswara of the Tourism Ministry.
The training in NTB is joined by 20 participants from the provincial tourism department representing Bima regency, Dompu, West Lombok, Central Lombok, East Lombok, North Lombok, Sumbawa, West Sumbawa, Bima city, Mataram city and Lombok Tourism Polytechnic. (asw)
