Garuda Indonesia, Citilink win TripAdvisor awards

aruda Indonesia and its low-cost subsidiary Citilink Indonesia have been named Best Airlines in Indonesia and Best Low-Cost Airlines in Asia, respectively, by travel and booking website TripAdvisor.
The national flag carrier was also recognized as one of this year's winners in both the Best Major Carriers in Asia and Best Economy Class in Asia categories, the website said on Monday in announcing the winners of its Travelers Choice Awards.
“This award serves as further encouragement for Garuda and us as the employees. It is also a testament to Garuda Indonesia's sustainable development in recent years,” the airline's service director, Nicodemus P. Lampe, told a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Meanwhile Andy Adrian, the commercial director of Citilink Indonesia, which, prior to the announcement, had never received an award from the annual TripAdvisor event, said the airline would continue to develop in the coming years.
"Our outlook for the next five years is to add more planes,” he said.
The Travelers Choice Awards is said to be a result of last year's ratings and reviews by passengers, taking into account quality and quantity of services from all airlines in the world. TripAdvisor added the airline category to the awards in 2017. (anm/kes)
