Foreign countries to take part in Aceh's percussion music festival

Set to be held across three different venues in Lhokseumawe, the percussion music festival is part of the 100 Wonderful Indonesia 2018 Event series.

alaysia and Thailand will reportedly take part in the 2nd Aceh International Rapa'i Festival (ACIRAF) slated for Nov. 3 to 7 in Lhokseumawe, Aceh.

Set to be held across three different venues, namely Jenderal Sudirman Field, Tunas Bangsa Stadium and Jeulikat Reservoir, the percussion music festival is part of the 100 Wonderful Indonesia 2018 Event series.

According to kompas.com on Wednesday, the chairman of Lhokseumawe city's Aceh Arts Council (DKA), Nazaruddin Zainal, said the committee was still waiting for confirmation of the participation of two other foreign countries, namely Turkey and India. The local participants who have confirmed their attendance are West Sumatra, Riau's Bengkalis regency, Jakarta and West Java.

"From Aceh itself, the participants are Pidie Jaya, Bireueun and North Aceh regencies and the city of Lhokseumawe,” he added. 

Around 500 people are expected to participate in the event that is estimated to contribute up to Rp 15 billion (US$986,579) in revenue. (kes)
