ontinuing the successful path of the Village Energy Independence program by empowering the community, Pertamina through PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus Fuel Terminal Tuban provides education and utilization of solar power plants (SPP) in Jatimbalinus, Tasikharjo village, Tuban regency, East Java.

This renewable energy has also supported the energy needs of the local micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) empowerment program, Creative Economy Tasikharjo (Ekokraf Asik), and has applied the principles of sustainable development in the surrounding area.

A total of 35 recipients through the Ekokraf Asik program, consisting of three MSME-empowerment programs, namely the Batik Sekar Tanjung program, the Sewing Sekar Tanjung program and the Ethical Creative Tasikharjo program, utilize natural resources and local resources to produce high-quality, environmentally friendly creative products while also boosting the village's economy.

“The utilization of renewable energy sources can support the growth of the creative economy by providing affordable and reliable energy. Harnessing the abundant natural resources in Indonesia, one way of which is by maximizing the energy transition, assists creative economy participants in innovating and developing products and services in local villages while contributing to environmental protection,” explained Adriansyah, fuel terminal manager Tuban.

This renewable energy has also supported reverse osmosis and eco municipal waste treatment to achieve water self-sufficiency in Tasikharjo. Additionally, solar panels also support the production of a waste-management system involving the reduce, reuse and recycle (3R) principles.

With a capacity of 6.54 kWp, this solar power system is capable of generating electricity up to 10,241 kWh per year. Supported by a 10 kWh lithium battery, which can save electricity costs of up to Rp 15 million per year. Additionally, this renewable energy source is capable of reducing carbon emissions by 8,502 kilograms per year.

The Village Energy Independence program has produced benefits in the form of 170,880 wp of solar power generation, 605,000 cubic meters per year of biogas and methane energy, 8,000 watts of microhydro energy, 6,500 liters of biodiesel energy per year, and 16,500 wp of hybrid solar and wind power generation.

“With this renewable energy, the productivity of MSMEs in Tasikharjo village continues to grow. This also provides us with new insights into the use of environmentally friendly energy, allowing us to contribute to the preservation of our village environment,” Susiani, a resident of Tasikharjo said.

The Village Energy Independence program also plays a role in meeting the energy needs of the community and has an economic impact on 3,201 households with a total multiplier effect of

Rp 1.8 billion per year. The hope is that through the Pertamina Village Energy Independence program, the community can develop its economic potential through various training programs to enhance community capacity, as well as the development of MSME products. This includes providing education on the use and maintenance of renewable energy facilities.

PT Pertamina Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus relations and CSR area manager Comm. Ahad Rahedi explained that Pertamina program aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) pursued by the government, particularly SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation), 7 (affordable and clean energy), 8 (decent work and economic growth) and 13 (climate action). “Furthermore, this program serves as Pertamina's tangible action to support the government's efforts in achieving net-zero emissions by the year 2060”, added Ahad.
