onsumer electronics company PT. LG Electronics Indonesia (LG) has launched the "Better Life for All" campaign, aiming to contribute to the creation of a sustainable food culture by tackling the issue of food waste and food insecurity.
Running from March to May 2024, the campaign is done in collaboration with NGOs as well as Prasetiya Mulya University, and emphasizes LG's commitment to expand the LG brand promise, Life's Good, to society by improving quality of life through social responsibility initiatives including educational workshops, the Better Life Festival and food distribution to underprivileged communities.
Lee Taejin, President of PT. LG Electronics Indonesia, said the company believes the power of innovation can solve crucial social problems, including food waste and food insecurity.
“The ‘Better Life for All’ campaign reflects our dedication to making a meaningful impact on handling food waste or food that is wasted and becomes trash, both in Indonesia and in the world. By involving young people, we want to inspire positive change and contribute to a more sustainable future. We also realize that by empowering the younger generation, environmental responsibility and awareness will be created for future generations," he said.
The campaign will start with a collaboration with chef Devina Hermawan in creating the Better Life Recipe, which emphasizes reducing food waste. This will be followed by the #MasakPintarLG social media challenge, which requires participants to share their favorite Ramadan dishes with others so as to minimize leftovers.
LG will also hold the Better Life Festival, a two-day event on April 19 to 20 at Chillax Sudirman to highlight food waste and sustainable lifestyles through workshops and discussions with experts and activists.
The campaign will be closed with food distribution activities to underprivileged communities in collaboration with FoodCycle Indonesia, with LG supporting the operational side through the company's logistical strength and resources.
Through this campaign, LG aims to instill the importance of a sustainable lifestyle and create a positive and long-term impact for individuals and families facing nutritional challenges.
