The campaign, more than a mere manifesto, signifies a tangible step in Telkomsel's pledge to consistently empower communities across Indonesia, leaving a positive impact on every aspect of life.
Split into 5 separate overarching spirits, Telkomsel’s first pillar is encapsulated as the Spirit that Connects People and is evident in its relentless efforts to enhance digital connectivity across the Indonesian archipelago. With the establishment of over 3,000 4G/LTE networks in 504 cities and regencies, the construction of 220 Merah Putih BTS sites in challenging geographical locations and the deployment of around 470 5G BTS units across 48 cities, Telkomsel has achieved a mobile broadband customer payload traffic that exceeds 8.7 million TB, marking growth of 9.4 percent.
As a testament to its commitment to innovation, with the Spirit to Innovate, Telkomsel has implemented the most extensive fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) initiative in Indonesia, providing connectivity to approximately 97 percent of the Indonesian population. Integrating IndiHome services into the Telkomsel business ecosystem within three months, the company launched the Telkomsel One product, providing seamless broadband services a month after the integration.
Telkomsel's commitment to driving progress is evident in the Spirit that Drives Progress pillar, highlighted through initiatives such as the establishment of INDICO, a digital sector subsidiary overseeing various subsidiaries within Telkomsel's emerging vertical business portfolio. Moreover, through its subsidiary Telkomsel Mitra Inovasi (TMI), the company actively engages in venture capital endeavors, supporting local start-ups.
Telkomsel has consistently been a major contributor to the state's non-tax state revenue (PNBP), averaging more than Rp 7 trillion from 2019 to 2022. In 2021, it was recognized as the largest tax contributor, contributing Rp 15.8 trillion to the state, and in 2022, the company's PNBP and tax obligations reached Rp 26 trillion.
The company's commitment to sharing hopes plays a pivotal role in creating a brighter future for all, exemplified in its Spirit to Share Hopes. Through various corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, such as IndonesiaNEXT and the ongoing NextDev program since 2015, Telkomsel empowers local communities and fortifies digital talent in the Indonesian start-up sector. The Baktiku Negeriku program supports sustainable village development in remote areas, while the Telkomsel Emergency Response & Recovery Activity (TERRA) expedites post-disaster recovery by setting up relief posts and restoring networks and services.
Telkomsel extends its commitment to inclusivity by providing special services for customers with disabilities at 19 GraPARI customer service points across Indonesia. Collaborating with Amazon Web Service (AWS) in the Terampil di Awan program, the company offers cloud computing technology and website programming fundamentals training to over 250 special-needs students in the Greater Jakarta area.
Upholding its Spirit of Caring for the Earth, Telkomsel also implements environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles through the CSR program Telkomsel Jaga Bumi. This program includes ongoing recycling initiatives and a carbon offset program, resulting in the planting of over 15,060 trees in Indonesia's mangrove forests.
In addition, Telkomsel introduced the Digitalization Support program in the Tahura Ngurah Rai mangrove ecosystem, employing IoT technology to protect and monitor its condition. The company also promotes environmentally friendly electric vehicles through bundles of electric motorbike purchases with its data quota packages.
