stra has affirmed its commitment to supporting the development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) as the country’s inclusive, green and sustainable new capital through the Astra Biz Center-IKN.

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Astra Biz Center-IKN project on June 4 in East Kalimantan.

The development of Astra Biz Center-IKN is in line with the IKN Forest City concept, which emphasizes a balance in design between an urban city and sustaining the area’s natural environment.

“Astra Biz Center-IKN reflects Astra’s concrete contribution to developing IKN as a sustainable forest, livable and lovable city, which aligns with the vision for the Nusantara capital city,

“Astra Biz Center-IKN, now under construction by Astra, is expected to enhance Astra Group’s contributing role it plays in forwarding the business hub and fuelling local economic growth,” said Astra director Rudy Chen.

Built on a 3.4-hectare plot, Astra Biz Center-IKN is an integrated, one-stop service center for 11 businesses under Astra Group: ACC, Astra Daihatsu, Astra Infra, Astra Motor, Astra Property, Asuransi Astra, Auto2000, FIFGROUP, SERA, TAF and United Tractors.

Astra Biz Center-IKN prioritizes meeting the demands of customers and offering ease to the public as regards transportation and mobility products, including four-wheel and two-wheel vehicles.

With a green building design concept, the two-floor Astra Biz Center-IKN is to be developed using natural lighting, eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient devices that embrace sustainability while maximizing the surrounding environment. The new center is also oriented to provide comfort for pedestrians in its inclusive, futuristic design to match the overall concept of the future capital city.

The Astra Biz Center in Nusantara will be the third in the country, following the development of two other one-stop service centers in Bandung, West Java, and in Bumi Serpong Damai, South Tangerang, Banten.

As part of Astra’s efforts to support the development of public facilities, commercial areas and infrastructure in the new capital, particularly in education, the Michael D. Ruslim Astra Education Foundation (YPA MDR) is currently revitalizing SDN Sepaku 020 state elementary school in North Penajam Paser regency.

Astra is also supporting 11 elementary schools and two vocational schools in the vicinity of the IKN project site, with an aim to enhance the quality of education they deliver to produce quality students.

Other dignitaries that attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Astra Biz Center-IKN included several cabinet ministers, the IKN Authority leadership and the acting governor of East Kalimantan, as well as officials from the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum.

Representatives of the Nusantara Consortium and executives from Astra Group were also present at the ceremony that included breaking ground on the consortium’s Nusantara Botanical Garden project.

Astra’s spirit in supporting the development of an inclusive, sustainable Nusantara for a better Indonesia is in line with its vision and mission to realize shared prosperity nationwide and the country’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
