ofitel Nusa Dua is reopening its signature restaurant, Cucina, to offer a new adventure; a dining experience unlike no other. The recently revamped Cucina offers an invigorating new look with a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere.
Taken under the wing of chef Patrizia Battolu of Italy, she leads the culinary team and a new zero-waste concept uniform, to contribute and be part of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) movement. Chef Patrizia has brought her expertise from South Italy to China and Thailand before arriving to the island, exploring Italian-Mediterranean cuisines while adapting to the local culture and taste buds.
While the Italian ambiance dominates the menu, the elements of Bali are exhibited throughout the restaurant with different shades of blues and hanging fabric on the ceiling and curtain. Terracota tiles from Ubud represent the element of the earth, while Kevala Ceramics tableware’s green represent the lush green covered mountains and forests.
The uniforms are designed by local artist Adrie Basuki, an artisan who specializes in using crafty kain perca (patchwork) and recycled cotton rayon for a minimal environmental impact. While it is revealed that the inspiration for the patterns on the uniform was partially drawn from ocean views of Positano and Amalfi Coast, they are tailor-made by housewives in Kampung Perca, Bogor.
Cucina will reopen on Aug. 28 for in-house guests and later for non-staying visitors. Its unlimited-to-order authentic Italian delicacies will be available every day for lunch and dinner, and every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for brunch. Guests are also welcome to try its selection of cocktails and the best wines Italy has to offer alongside their pastas.
