ali, home to balmy winds and lush landscapes, and known for its artistic mystique, hosted the 12th Bali International Choir Festival.
From July 25-29, this harmonious symphony was embraced across many prestigious stages in Badung, including: Giri Nata Mandala Cultural Center in Puspem, Badung, Galang Ning Hyang Abianbase Church, Kerta Gosana Hall at the regent’s office and the Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel in Kuta.
The event was more than just a gathering.
“We also aim to foster friendships among participants of Indonesian choirs and the global choir community, while simultaneously creating extensive and friendly ‘mutual networking,’” said visionary conductor Frederich Henoch Samalang.
The choir festival created a union of harmonious spirits within Indonesia and the choral communities of the Philippines, Malaysia and South Korea.
Frederich painted a musical vision, weaving competition, education, collaboration and soul-stirring performances into an enthralling ensemble. Beyond the melodies, the festival captivated participants by nurturing their creative sides through art’s expressive medium.
From the vibrant mosaic of the children’s choir to the upbeat rhythms of pop & jazz and the classical resonance of Musica Sacra, the diverse categories painted a canvas of ardor. Maestros Tommyanto Kandisaputra and Dr. Andrea Angelini guided this journey.
Involving institutions such as the National Narcotics Agency of Indonesia (BNN RI), the Bali Provincial Government (Pemprov Bali), the Bali Regional Police and the Badung Regency Government (Pemkab Badung), the festival’s resonance transcended boundaries.
The 12th Bali International Choir Festival 2023 not only elevated the choral arts, but it also embroidered the cultural fabrics of Bali and Indonesia with a melodic narrative.
