Indo Beauty Expo, K-Beauty Expo Indonesia & IndoHealthcare Expo 2023 to be held at JIExpo

K

rista Exhibitions, in collaboration with Korea International Exhibitions & Convention Center (KINTEX), is set to hold the Indo Beauty Expo 2023 and K-Beauty Expo Indonesia amid the growing demand for cosmetics and health products in Indonesia.

The beauty and health sector recorded a 5 percent increase in 2023 and is predicted to grow 9 percent by 2026, according to beauty and health industry players.

The use of natural ingredients as basic materials for cosmetics has become increasingly popular, in line with the growing “back to nature” trend. This trend will provide good opportunities for Indonesia, a country rich in natural ingredients.

The 13th Indo Beauty Expo 2023 and K-Beauty Expo Indonesia will take place at the Jakarta International Exhibition Expo (JIExpo) in Kemayoran, Jakarta, from Sept. 21 to 23.

The international exhibition will display a wide range of cosmetics, skincare, perfumes, fragrant and hair products, health devices and packaging technology.

The exhibition will be held to coincide with Indohealthcare Expo 2023, the 14th international exhibition featuring medical devices and hospital, pharmaceutical products and health services.

Krista Exhibitions CEO Daud D Salim said that the Indo Beauty Expo and Indohealthcare Expo would host 200 companies, of which 20 were micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). “The number of participants is up 25 percent compared with last year’s event. By country of origin, the participants come from several countries including China, India, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia,” he said in a press conference held virtually.

He said that the beauty and health industry was becoming increasingly important, with consumer demand for cosmetics and personal care expanding to not only women but also men and children. “The increasing level of awareness has driven the increasingly better cosmetics production technology,” he said.

“The exhibition serves as a platform through which relevant industrial actors, which include producers, suppliers, traders, importers and exporters, can meet,” Daud said.

Indo Beauty Expo and K-Beauty Expo Indonesia and Indohealthcare Expo 2023 are expected to open new business opportunities for all participants and also visitors.

Apart from promoting their products, the participants will also be able to meet with other business people under B2B schemes and seek a solution for mutually beneficial business collaboration.

The three-day event will present attractive programs, which will expand the horizon of the visitors, especially Generation Z, a consumer generation that is growing amid the high awareness about environmental impacts and sustainability.

“Eco-friendly products will also be on display at the exhibition. Indonesia’s cosmetics industry actors are also required to continually innovate to follow the trend,” said Daud.

Cosmetics Companies Association (PPAK) head Solihin Sofian said that Indonesian cosmetics producers had to develop their own characteristics to protect the domestic market.

According to him, the local beauty and heath industry could potentially contribute to increasing tourist numbers. “Tourism-related activities, including beauty and health exhibitions, F&B expos and wellness or health services can be held simultaneously at tourist destinations such as Bali and Labuan Bajo. This will attract domestic and foreign tourists. If the program is run frequently, then this will potentially boost tourist arrivals,” he said.

Haryono Budiono of the Indonesian Cosmetics Import Companies Association (APKII) said imported cosmetics products would not affect the domestic market because imported products were targeted at the high-end segment.

The exhibition is supported by the Trade Ministry, Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry, Industry Ministry and several associations, including the PPAK, the APKII, the Indonesian Retailers Association (APRINDO), the Indonesian Jamu and Traditional Medicine Producers Group (GP-Jamu), the Association of Medical and Laboratory Equipment Companies (Gakeslab), Indonesian Health Devices Producer Association (ASPAKI), the Indonesian Pharmaceutical Association (GP Farmasi) and Pharma Materials Management Club (PMMC).

Indo Beauty Expo and K-Beauty Expo Indonesia and Indohealthcare Expo 2023 are open to all businesses and the public.

The exhibitions open from Thursday to Saturday, starting from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
