he Island of the Gods may be famous for its breathtaking landscape, but sometimes being indoors has its perks. The Wonderspace will tell you why: introducing Mai Main, the newest family-friendly addition to the lineup.
Located in Padang Linjong in Bali’s southern resort village of Canggu, Mai Main is designed to be the ultimate destination for families and children. An expansive playground using natural bamboo and wood, the new establishment has a beach-like atmosphere, surrounded with views of lush green rice fields from the lounge, creating a vibrant, playful space that is perfect for children to explore, create and let their imagination run wild.
Mai Main means "let's play" in Balinese, but fun is just part of it. The area is also designed to foster learning.
According to psychologist Iswan Saputro, children's growth and development are influenced by the amount of stimulation they receive, whether visual, auditory or kinesthetic through the objects they see, touch and assemble. This is fully implemented within the four walls of Mai Main.
The indoor area offers a variety of activities including a playhouse, slides, trampolines and a ball pit, while more fun is available in Mai Main’s outdoor space, which has a sandy play zone, a swimming pool and even a children’s train that takes them on a ride around the playground.
Mai Main has both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, where kids can hone their swimming skills with an instructor or take part in aquatic activities.
Various creative classes are also on offer for children to explore their talents and interests, from swimming to ballet and even zoology. A featured animal feeding station provides an opportunity for them to interact with friendly goats, cuddly rabbits, and adorable piglets as they learn interesting facts about the vast animal kingdom. The establishment undertakes the protection of these creatures seriously, prioritizing excellent animal husbandry.
While the kids are immersed in all the fun learning activities, parents are welcome to relax in the restaurant and lounge or partake of additional facilities like the barbershop, while a baby spa caters to those with very young ones.
