adma Resort Legian is thrilled to announce the next edition of the Padma Musical Series this month, featureing a special performance by world-renowned jazz pianist Joey Alexander.
Joey takes to the stage on Sept. 21 in a performance that also features a distinguished guest: celebrated Indonesian singer Andien.
A Balinese native from Denpasar, Joey captivated the global jazz scene with his extraordinary talent at a young age, raking in millions of online views and receiving high praise from international jazz legends, including Herbie Hancock.
”That was the day I decided to dedicate myself to jazz.” Joey says, recalling the moment he received Hancock’s nod of approval.
Now a rising star in the United States, Joey has released several critically acclaimed albums from the other side of the globe.
His first album under independent label Mack Avenue Records, 2022’s Origin, has a track list comprised entirely of original compositions and features notable international artists such as Kendrick Scott and Larry Grenadier.
Joey’s latest offering, Continuance (2023), marks the continuing success of his impressive career from prodigy to maturity, all before the artist celebrated his 21st birthday.
As it welcomes Joey home in a commemorative event, the Padma Musical Series is sure offer a memorable evening of jazz excellence for all music lovers.
