ard Rock Hotel Bali has partnered with the Bali Hijau Lestari Foundation to plant a total of 3,800 trees at two forest areas in the island province: the Mount Batur Bukit Payang ecotourism park in Kintamani subdistrict, Bangli regency and Rendang village in Karangasem regency.

The tree-planting event on Feb. 21 was supported by funds raised during the successful 21st annual Rock N' Run 5km Charity Fun Run, held on Dec. 8, 2024. The reforestation initiative exemplifies Hard Rock Hotel Bali's commitment to sustainability and dedication to preserving the natural beauty of Bali.

The Mt. Batur Bukit Payang ecotourism park is a vital forest conservation area that highlightes the urgent need for ecosystem restoration initiatives. These efforts are centered around the cultivation of endemic plant species, such as Timor mountain gum (Eucalyptus urophylla) and mountain ru (Casuarina junghuhniana).

Rendang village is home to a protected forest that is the site of a fruit tree planting initiative by the Bali Hijau Lestari Foundation, in partnership with the East Bali Forest Management Unit (KPH) and local farmers’ groups.

Meanwhile, Hard Rock Hotel Bali’s recent certification from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) testifies to its commitment to caring for the environment through sustainable practices.

“The Rock N' Run has been our key annual fundraising activity to support local charities for over two decades. It’s always been the most eagerly awaited year-end running event,” said Shane Coates, General Manager of Hard Rock Hotel Bali.

“The run raises the spirits of enthusiastic runners, individuals and communities. We hope that this activity inspires runners to engage, not only in competition and physical fitness but also in heightening awareness to care for our planet,” he added.

Through charity events and collaboration with local foundations and community groups, Hard Rock Hotel Bali seeks to foster a positive environmental impact and motivate others to participate. Its committment to supporting environmental initiatives is part of the hotel’s mission to contribute to creating a greener future for Bali.
