Indonesia membukukan surplus perdagangan besar pada Maret, berkat melonjaknya ekspor ke Amerika Serikat. Ekspor naik sebelum tarif impor yang dikenakan oleh Presiden AS Donald Trump mulai berlaku.

Pada Senin 21 April, data yang diungkapkan oleh Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) dalam konferensi pers menunjukkan bahwa neraca perdagangan bulan lalu, atau total ekspor dikurangi impor, berjumlah surplus 4,33 miliar dolar Amerika. Artinya, lebih tinggi dari surplus 3,1 miliar dolar yang tercatat pada bulan sebelumnya.

Kepala BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti menjelaskan bahwa Maret menandai "bulan ke-59 berturut-turut" surplus perdagangan Indonesia, yang dimulai sejak Mei 2020. Ia tambahkan bahwa perdagangan bilateral dengan AS berkontribusi paling besar terhadap ekspor neto positif bulan lalu.

Surplus perdagangan nonmigas Indonesia dengan AS pada Maret lalu mencapai 1,98 miliar dolar, menjadikannya surplus perdagangan bilateral tertinggi dengan negara ekonomi terbesar di dunia tersebut, sejak surplus 2 miliar dolar pada Maret 2022.
