DPR rapat rahasia, tergesa bahas RUU TNI 

Para aktivis keberatan dengan isi RUU, yang akan menambah jumlah lembaga negara, dari 10 menjadi 15, tempat perwira militer aktif dapat menjabat. RUU juga akan menaikkan usia pensiun bagi personel TNI.

Pada Sabtu 15 Maret, DPR dan pemerintah mengadakan pembicaraan tertutup yang tampak dipercepat, membahas rencana revisi Undang-Undang Tentara Nasional Indonesia (TNI). Rancangan UU TNI itu menunjukkan pengaruh militer yang semakin besar di negara ini. Para pengunjuk rasa yang masuk ke sekitar area pertemuan diusir keluar. 

Kekhawatiran tentang kembalinya peran dwifungsi TNI muncul setelah pertemuan rahasia para anggota DPR pada Sabtu pekan lalu di Hotel Fairmont, Jakarta Pusat. Tampak anggota Komisi I DPR yang mengawasi bidang pertahanan membahas aturan baru untuk memperluas kewenangan TNI dalam kehidupan sipil. Pemerintahan Prabowo dilaporkan diwakili oleh Wakil Menteri Pertahanan Donny Ermawan dalam pertemuan tersebut.

Sore itu, setidaknya dua aktivis dari kelompok hak asasi manusia, yaitu Komisi untuk Orang Hilang dan Korban Tindak Kekerasan (Kontras), memasuki area ruang rapat hotel. Mereka mendesak para anggota DPR untuk menghentikan diskusi, karena tidak melibatkan partisipasi publik yang berarti.

Setelah menyampaikan pernyataan, para aktivis dipaksa keluar dari ruang rapat. Seorang petugas keamanan di hotel tersebut kemudian dikatakan mengajukan laporan polisi terhadap salah satu aktivis tersebut.
