ndonesia mengimbau agar gelombang kekerasaan di Timur Tengah segera diakhiri. Kekerasan di Timur Tengah telah menewaskan ratusan orang, baik di pihak Israel maupun Palestina, menyusul serangan mendadak berskala besar yang dilakukan oleh militan Palestina. Serangan tersebut menjadi yang paling mematikan terhadap Israel dalam 50 tahun ini.

“Indonesia sangat prihatin dengan meningkatnya konflik antara Paestina dan Israel. Indonesia mendesak agar kekerasan segera diakhiri, untuk menghindari jatuhnya korban jiwa lebih lanjut,” kata Kementerian Luar Negeri Indonesia dalam sebuah pernyataan yang dikeluarkan pada hari Minggu (8 Oktober). “Akar konflik adalah pendudukan Israel atas wilayah Palestina yang harus diselesaikan sesuai parameter yang disepakati di PBB.”

Kementerian Luar Negeri RI menambahkan bahwa setidaknya 13 warga negara Indonesia tinggal di Jalur Gaza dan tidak ada yang terluka dalam serangan tersebut.

Pemerintah menyatakan sedang memantau kondisi WNI di Gaza melalui kedutaan besar di Amman dan Kairo. WNI yang berada di Palestina diimbau untuk waspada dan menghindari daerah konflik.

Sebuah LSM dari Indonesia, Komite Penyelamatan Darurat Medis (MER-C), melaporkan bahwa serangan Israel di Jalur Gaza menewaskan salah satu pekerjanya dan menghantam sebuah rumah sakit Indonesia. “Roket yang ditembakkan dari jet tempur Israel jatuh begitu dekat dengan lokasi kami dan menghancurkan mobil operasional MER-C di depan gedung Dr. Joserizal Jurnalis,” kata seorang staf MER-C di Gaza.

Staf lokal MER-C yang tewas bernama Abu Romzi.

“Kami mengutuk serangan Israel di Gaza yang menargetkan rumah sakit,” kata presiden MER-C Sarbini Abdul Murad.
