The Immigration office in Bali has increased its supervision of visiting foreigners in Bali, in an effort to ensure that none of them would hold or participate in a protest during the Group of 20 Summit and meetings in Nusa Dua.

Anggiat Napitupulu, the Law and Human Rights Ministry's Bali office head, said according to the law, foreign visitors are banned from holding any protest rallies in the country as it disrupts public order.

"Not only for the G20 Summit -- they are banned from holding rallies in any situation in Indonesia," Anggiat told The Jakarta Post on Sunday.

He said that visitors could only hold activities based on their visa. "If they violate their permit, they could be deported and banned from entering Indonesia," he said.
