An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 struck Sulawesi on Monday, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said.

The quake was at a depth of 12 km (7.46 miles), EMSC said.

On Friday, an earthquake of magnitude 6.3 struck north of Halmahera island, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said.

The quake was at a depth of 100 km, EMSC added.

In early February, at least four people were killed when an earthquake struck the eastern part of Papua and crumpled a waterfront restaurant, officials said.
