Ethics probe into five KPK leaders begins

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) supervisory board has summoned  five KPK leaders for questioning over alleged ethics violations by relieving a former investigation director Brig. Gen. Endar Priantoro of his duties.

he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) supervisory board has summoned five KPK leaders for questioning over alleged ethics violations for relieving a former investigation director Brig. Gen. Endar Priantoro of his duties.

Supervisory board member Albertina Ho said that all KPK commissioners had answered the summons.

“We questioned all [leaders] from morning to evening,” she said, without providing further details, on Wednesday afternoon.

Nawawi Pomolango, Nurul Ghufron and Alexander Marwata, were seen entering the Anti-Corruption Learning Center building through the front door, while Firli Bahuri and Johanis Tanak were not seen entering the building.

Nurul told reporters that he would comply with the supervisory body on the ethics probe into Endar’s dismissal.

On Monday, the supervisory board summoned Endar and secretary-general Cahya Harefa for clarification over the dismissal dispute.

Last week, Endar reported Firli and Cahya to the supervisory board for allegedly committing an ethics violation over his dismissal. The one-star police general was appointed to the position at the KPK by National Police chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
