he Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) has asked for its 2025 budget to be increased by Rp 100 billion (US$6.13 million), part of which will be used to hire influencers and content creators.

The agency proposed its increased annual budget on Tuesday during a preliminary discussion on the 2025 fiscal budget at a work meeting involving the BPIP, the government and House of Representatives Commission II, which oversees home affairs.

Nearly half of the additional fund would be used to pay influencers and content creators to promote Pancasila, BPIP head Yudian Wahyudi told the meeting.

"Implementation of Pancasila [awareness] for content creators, YouTubers, influencers, Tiktokers amounts to Rp 45,594,500,000," Yudian said.

The country’s five-point Pancasila state ideology includes belief in God, national unity, social justice and democracy, and enshrines religious diversity in Indonesia as a secular state.

Yudian also said Rp 18 billion of the added sum would be used to “strengthen the Pancasila volunteer network by instilling Pancasila values” in a program involving “the government, legislature and other institutions”.
