T

he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has finished reviewing the gratuity report filed by Kaesang Pangarep over his use of a private jet to travel to the United States with his wife last month, which caused an online backlash.

“I heard that the commissioners [discussed] the report in a meeting,” KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto said on Tuesday, as quoted by kompas.com.

Tessa added that the antigraft body was currently finalizing its analysis report, after which a senior KPK official would publicly announce the results “this week”, though he did not specify a date.

He also dismissed speculation that the KPK leadership was split over whether to release the results to the public.

Earlier this week, interim KPK chairman Nawawi Pomolango stated on Tuesday that the antigraft body had no plans to publicize the results of its analysis regarding Kaesang’s US trip by private jet. But in a separate occasion on Tuesday, the KPK’s prevention and monitoring deputy Pahala Nainggolan said his team had wrapped up its review of the actions of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s youngest son and had handed over the report to the commissioners, who would announce it to the public, as reported by kompas.id.

“There’s no internal rift over who will announce the analysis report,” Tessa said.
