The much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are now available in Indonesia.
Powered by the latest Android operating system known as Marshmallow, both smartphones will have at least one feature that their older sibling, the S6, does not have: water resistance. They reportedly can be dunked in the water up to the depth of 1 meter for around 30 minutes as they repel spills and splashes -- an excellent feature if you are the kind of person who likes to listen to music while taking a dip.
In terms of overall design, the products have similarities with previous designs, with their metal edges and rounded corners. Samsung also boasts that they were the first smartphone with dual-pixel technology and a 12-megapixel camera that has instant autofocus and a new advanced sensor, even in low light.
Smartphones may be known for their weak battery life, but Samsung reportedly has given a boost to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, as they will have the ability to charge wirelessly and fill up their batteries in no time.
The memory capacity of each phone is 32GB. Although in the past Samsung has offered more choices, including a 64GB and 128GB, it allows users to add a microSD of up to 200GB in the new products.
Available in white, black, silver and gold, Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will be priced at Rp 8.9 million (US$680) and Rp 10.49 million, respectively, and available for pre-order until March 13. (kes)
