T

he quarrel between US President-elect Donald Trump and actor Alec Baldwin over the latter's performances on the late-night comedy show Saturday Night Live is seemingly far from over.

Baldwin recently replied to Trump’s criticism of the show, telling Trump to release his tax returns if he wanted to stop the actor impersonating him.

Previously on Saturday Trump tweeted that Saturday Night Live was “unwatchable”. “[It’s] totally biased, not funny and the Baldwin impersonation just can’t get any worse. Sad,” he wrote.

It is not the first time that Baldwin has donned the blond wig to lampoon the new president-elect.  In his latest sketch, which at the time of writing had been viewed by 1.8 million people, Baldwin’s version of Trump said that he was too busy tweeting and retweeting to listen to security briefings.

Meanwhile, his campaign manager Kellyanne Conway, portrayed by Kate McKinnon, said, “Donald tweets so much, he does it to distract the media from his business conflicts and all the scary people in his cabinet," to which Baldwin's Trump replied, “Actually that’s not why I do it. I do it because my brain is bad.”

It was also not the first time Trump has posted angry tweets about the TV show. In November, he criticized the show as being a “totally one-sided, biased show – nothing funny at all,” which was responded to by Baldwin with a series of “advice” as a president. (kes)
