ne of the hosts of local TV show about health Dr. Oz Indonesia, Dr. Ryan Thamrin, passed away on Friday morning in Pekanbaru, Riau, at the age of 39.
The cause of his passing is reportedly unknown, but one of his neighbors told tempo.co that he had been ill for quite some time.
The funeral was held on the same day at Pemakaman Kesadaran in Pekanbaru after Friday prayers.

Born in Tanjung Pinang on May 27, Dr. Ryan was an alumni of Gajah Mada University (UGM)'s medical faculty in Yogyakarta and had actively shared information about health, particularly reproductive system and sex, in seminars, magazines and talk shows. He was also named Abang Jakarta of the Abang None (Abnon) beauty pageant in 2003.
Some of his friends and fans expressed their deep condolences on social media, including Dr. Reisa Broto Asmoro who partners with him in hosting Dr. Oz Indonesia.
“Good bye Ian… my heart is broken, but I’ll try to be strong. I have to be ikhlas (sincere), but I’m sure gonna miss you deeply,” she wrote on her Instagram account. (wir/kes)
