The band had its debut in an event titled “Wanna One Premier Show-Co” in August 2017. It followed up with the release of the 1x1=1 (To Be One) album featuring the hit song Energetic in the same month. Later in November 2017, it repackaged the album with the title 1-1=0 (Nothing Without You) featuring the track Beautiful.
Total sales of the debut album including the repackaged version positioned Wanna One as the first K-Pop group to sell 1 million copies of its debut album.

Earlier this year in February, Wanna One posted a series of teasers titled “2018 Golden Age Begins”, followed by a special song I Promise You (I.P.U) and its video. The song hinted at the group’s second album released soon afterward, 0+0=1 (I Promise You) gaining more than 700,000 pre-orders.
The album was released on March 19 featuring the hit song Boomerang.
Due to its strength in branding and marketing, Wanna One reached the top position of the Boy Group Brand Power Ranking issued by the Korean Corporate Reputation Research Institute. (mut)
