Jakarta-based Djournal Coffee is set to expand to several airports abroad, according to a report by tempo.co.
Having first opened in 2013 at the Grand Indonesia shopping mall in Central Jakarta, the coffee shop now has 13 outlets across Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya and Bali.
Its latest outlet, located in the boarding area of Terminal 3 at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, reportedly won the Asia Pacific regional title for "Airport Coffee, Tea, Non-Alcoholic Beverage Shop of the Year" at the 2018 FAB Awards held by travel retail-oriented digital publication Moodie Davitt Report.

"We have plans to open several new outlets throughout the year, including in some airports abroad," Djournal Coffee brand manager Sarah Merci told tempo.co at Soekarno-Hatta airport on Tuesday.
In order to distinguish itself from the competition, Sarah said, the brand chose to highlight its coffee from the archipelago.
Various local drinks can be found at its outlets, including coffee from Toraja, Mandailing, Papua, Bali, Aceh and Java. "The most popular one is our Papuan coffee," Sarah said. (kes)
