Healthy instant noodles from Lemonilo are now available in casual eateries.
ore healthy eateries and caterers are popping up in Jakarta. A number of vegetarian restaurants have opened in many parts of the city, while some regular restaurants have started to include healthy dishes on their menus. A growing number of catering services are also offering menu items for those trying to maintain a healthy diet.
It can be quite a challenge to make the right food choices among the plethora of fast food options in the capital. More rapidly than healthy restaurants, cafés and eateries serving instant noodles and toasted bread with sugary toppings called ropang are also mushrooming in the city.
Instant noodles, often served with corned beef, cheese, eggs, sausages, meatballs or other processed foods can be ordered at these cafes and ropang at very affordable prices. Often high in salt, sugar, additives and preservatives, these foods can be addicting.
Concerned with the challenging culinary trend, tech-savvy food manufacturer Lemonilo stepped up to initiate the “Movement of Healthy Café and Ropang”, in partnership with many culinary entrepreneurs in Jakarta.
Lemonilo sells its instant noodle products, which they claim to be healthy, at lemonilo.com and supermarkets. Through the newly initiated movement, it offers instant noodle-based dishes in its partner eateries and cafes. The instant noodles, said to be made of natural ingredients with no added preservatives, colorings and additives, are also affordable.
According to a statement, the company sources ingredients from local producers classified as small and medium enterprises (SMEs) hailing from all over Indonesia. It also offers healthy and natural food products such as chicken crumble flour, premium cooking oil, spices and plant-based health supplements.

Meanwhile, cafes and ropang that have partnered with Lemonilo include What’s Up Café, Department of Juicetice, Warung Overtaste, Farmer’s Bowl, Roti Eneng, Kolary Coffee and Medifit. Lemonilo is open to other eateries interested in partnerships.

Shinta Nurfauzia, CEO of Lemonilo, said the company’s products aimed to serve as healthy options in places that did not provide such alternatives.
“We are hoping to help Indonesian citizens adopt healthy lifestyles as soon as possible and the price of menu items start at Rp 18,000 (US$1.25) so that they are affordable to everyone,” Shinta said. (mut)
