ross Cinema in Guiyang, Guizhou, successfully installed a new IMAX screen on Sept. 5 which became the widest in Asia and the second widest in the world.
Standard IMAX screens have a width of 22 meters and a height of 16 meters, while the Cross Cinema screen has a width of 32.16 meters and a height of 18.17 meters, making it larger than a standard basketball court. The one ton screen took over 60 people to install.
The movie hall where the screen is located covers an area of 1,429 square meters and can seat up to 714 people.

According to Zhang Xian, who works at the cinema, the IMAX movie hall will adopt the latest 4K laser projection system, meaning a clearer, brighter and more vivid picture.
Movies fans from all over the country came to Guiyang to help install the screen. They are looking forward to the final results.
After the installation, the cinema will debug the light and sound system before opening to the public on Sept. 30.
