Krakatau Reunion is to perform songs about the environment at the festival.
Jazz group Krakatau Reunion is set to perform at the 2018 World Music Festival, which is to last for three days.
The festival is to take place at the Telkom Hub in South Jakarta on Dec. 8 and 9 and at the indoor tennis stadium in Senayan in Central Jakarta on Dec. 11.
The band, which has Trie Utami on vocals, Indra Lesmana on keyboard, Dwiki Dharmawan on keyboard, Donny Suhendra on guitar and Gilang Ramadhan on drums, is to perform songs about the environment.
“We’ve been encouraging [people] to save the Earth,” Gilang Ramadhan told kompas.com. “At least we can do something through music – to save Indonesia and its nature.”

Gilang said it is not the first time the group has performed songs about the environment.
“Since our first album in 1985, our lyrics have always been about nature and family,” Gilang said, adding that there were moments in the music industry when people were afraid to produce songs about nature. “[People] generally make songs about romance.”
Promoted by Original Production, the World Music Festival is to also feature other musicians, including Michael Learns to Rock, Earth, Wind & Fire, FireHouse and Gigi.
Tickets are available online with prices starting at Rp 862,000 (US$58). (wir/kes)
