Directed by Mouly Surya, Marlina Si Pembunuh Dalam Empat Babak tells the story of Marlina, a grieving widow living in Sumba. One day, a man named Markus, along with his gang, attempts to rob her house. She later kills him, marking the beginning of an uneasy journey.
arsha Timothy snatched the Best Actress award for her role as Marlina in Marlina si Pembunuh dalam Empat Babak (Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts) at the 2018 Bandung Film Festival.
In the Best Actress category, Marsha was nominated along with Acha Septriasa, Chelsea Islan, Pevita Pearce and Putri Marino. The award was Marsha’s first win in the festival.
“[I dedicate] this award to all Indonesian women, particularly mothers in Sumba,” she said on Saturday, as quoted by kompas.com.
