The very expensive cup of coffee was sold at a newly-opened Klatch Coffee shop in San Francisco during a tasting event.
ow much would you care to spend on a cup of coffee? Los Angeles-based coffee shop franchise Klatch Coffee apparently thinks US$75 is a fair price, as such is the price of a cup of coffee sold at the shop recently.

— Tina Patel (@tina_patel) May 13, 2019As reported by CNN, the beverage was sold at that price at a newly-opened Klatch Coffee shop in San Francisco during a tasting event. It's quite reasonable though, since it was brewed using a single-source organic coffee bean named Elida Geisha Natural, the roasted beans of which come at a price of around $1,200.

The company bought the beans during a record-breaking auction in Panama last year for $803 per pound. Only 100 pounds of the coffee were auctioned off that day, of which Klatch was able to buy 10 pounds.
The highlight of the expensive coffee is the fact that it was not over roasted, said Bo Thiara, who co-owns the franchise's San Francisco store.
Coffee aficionados who are unable to come to the store can opt to purchase the beans online for $75 per 18 grams. (sop/kes)
