Lazada taps into Indonesian 'BTS Army'

E-commerce platform Lazada Indonesia is set to offer a special price for the BTS D-icon magazine on June 20 and 21.

BTS D-icon magazine is one of the must-have merchandise for fans of South Korean boy band BTS. Published by Dispatch magazine, it features photos of BTS members.

The BTS D-icon magazine is available under Lazada Indonesia’s "Are You Army Enough?" campaign, which is a part of the company’s Super Korean Festival.

Lazada Indonesia head of branding Sawitri Hertoto said during a press conference on Saturday that the photo book would be priced at Rp 350,000 (US$24.39) and it would come with additional 15 postcards and 15 photo cards, making it an interesting offer for the fans of BTS, known as BTS Army.

Sawitri assured that every BTS Army in Indonesia would be able to get the photo book.

“There are around 300,000 BTS Army in Indonesia and we’ve prepared enough copies for them,” she said, explaining that fans still can get the magazine after Super Korean Festival, but the price would be different.

“We wanted to give something special for the BTS Army in [Indonesia], especially since they just celebrated their sixth anniversary on June 13,” she added.

Super Korean Festival is Lazada’s newest campaign.

In addition to offering BTS D-icon Magazine, the platform will offer various discounts on products from South Korea during the Super Korean Festival, such as 80 percent discount for Korean watches and accessories, 45 percent discounts on Laneige skincare products and 50 percent discounts for Lock & Lock household products.
