Davy Linggar, Mario Wibowo and four other notable photographers express their admiration of the archipelago at a photography exhibition held by Leica Store Jakarta.
f you don’t have time to visit and experience different cultures across Indonesia, then a short visit to Leica Playground’s Nusantara (Archipelago) photo exhibition could be a good idea.
Held at Plaza Senayan in Jakarta, the exhibition showcases 24 photos of enchanting scenery, nature, people and traditions in various part of the country, taken by six photographers – dubbed Leica Ambassadors – using their Leica cameras.
The exhibition, organized by Leica Store Jakarta, runs from Aug. 26 until Nov. 17.
Half of the photos are displayed inside a large woven rattan installation, providing a unique experience as the visitors have to walk inside the installation to discover the works.
On the rattan wall, architectural photographer Mario Wibowo has placed his photos of Elevation – an installation by architecture firms Andramatin and BYO Living, as well as wood consultant Woodlam that was featured in the Venice Architecture Biennale last year.
Photographer and artist Davy Linggar, meanwhile, snapped photos of the people and nature of Alor, East Nusa Tenggara. He brings out the dramatic effect by contrasting light and shadow in each shot.
