Radiohead's Ed O'Brien continues teasing his new album with 'Shangri-La'

The guitarist revealed that his new solo album, Earth, will arrive on April 17.
To mark the announcement, O'Brien shared a new cut from his much-anticipated solo debut full-length, entitled "Shangri-La".
This new pop-infused single contrasts with the nine-minute "Brasil," which was released back in December alongside a short visual directed by Andrew Donoho.
Both songs will appear on O'Brien's forthcoming album, Earth, which gemmed from his move to Brazil following Radiohead's 2012 "King of Limbs" tour.
"As our time out there came to an end, we headed home and I found myself intuitively heading for the Welsh Hills. With a copy of Walt Whitman's ‘Leaves of Grass', a couple of guitars, an amp, and some pedals (of course), I rented a cottage in the Cambrian Mountains and the songs that make up the album started to flow out..." he recalled in a statement.

Earth was notably recorded between the fall of 2017 and early 2019, with the help of producer Flood and mixing engineer Alan Moulder.
"Thank you to all the incredible musicians who helped me and the people who put it together in the studio. It was a proper journey getting here. Recorded in Wales and London. Phew, we made it!!" he recently wrote on Twitter.
The album includes guest contributions by Radiohead's Colin Greenwood, Portishead's Adrian Utley, Wilco's Glenn Kotche, Omar Hakim, Nathan East, Laura Marling, the Invisible's David Okumu and Adam "Cecil" Bartlett among others.
The 51-year-old guitarist is not the only member of Radiohead that has recently been focusing on his solo career.
Earlier this week, drummer Philip Selway announced that the band was taking a "year away" from the recording studio to focus on solo endeavours.
"There are always conversations going on, but we've always got other projects going on. This is kind of the year away from Radiohead, but we will pick that up again," he recently told NME, without revealing additional details about what fans can expect when they will return.
