He is not yet a household name, but travel photographer Jatidiri Ono's immediately identifiable work is sure to find a wider audience soon.
atidiri may make most of his living through his work as a wedding photographer, but his travel photos showcase his unique eye for capturing the authentic ambience of places and emotions of people in their natural state.
His photos capture places in a manner that is almost meditative – calming and mood-driven without sacrificing style. His passion and his work have taken him to places such as Turkey, Korea, Armenia, Azerbaijan and various regions of India, including Jaisalmer and Ladakh.
From behind the lens, Jatiri finds immense respect for and understanding of the world's many different cultures and places, far beyond typical tourist photo spots. In many ways, photography has shaped Jatidiri.
“Photography has given me such a different perspective on my own patterns of living and thinking,” he says. “It's made me see the best in everything: people, places, objects. It's made me respect the various manners of observing and the many differences we have as people.”
Jatidiri’s photos reflect this perception of his surroundings. He believes every photographer delivers different pictures – unique feelings and looks – even if they're taking a picture of the same thing.
“Photography has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them. It may be impossible for our eyes to see it all, but our minds can,” Jatidir explains.
