Harry Potter star Rupert Grint and actor Georgia Groome have just become parents.

Grint’s representative confirmed to eonline.com they have welcomed a baby girl on Thursday. “We would please ask that you respect their privacy at this very special time,” wrote the representative.

Having been together for years, the pair is known for keeping their personal lives private. Groome, star of Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, was spotted with a baby bump while going out with Grint in London in April.

In 2018, Grint told The Guardian that he would like to “settle down and have kids soon”.

“If I had a son, would I call him Ron? It’s quite a good name, but probably not. And Grint’s a tough name to pair a one-syllable first name with,” he said in the interview.

Born in August 1988, Grint is best known for portraying the ginger-haired wizard Ron Weasley in the Harry Pottter movies. Among the awards he has received is the WhatsOnStage Award for London Newcomer of the Year in 2014 for his stage acting debut in Mojo. (wir/wng)
